Through our early career programmes you'll get the opportunity to work for a global business and gain hands-on experience on real projects.

If you're an innovative thinker who can be strategic and analytical, but also hit the ground running and contribute from day one, we want to hear from you.

Engineering Internship Programme

Our engineering interns are currently studying towards their degrees and are typically in their penultimate year of study. As an Interconnect intern you get hands-on experience on real-life projects. It means you can immerse yourself in our world and really get to know what it’s like to work in a fast paced, global business.

During the 8-12 week programme you’ll work on a project that is selected by the internal leaders and you’ll learn from talented and inspiring colleagues. Because all our internships are fully assessed, if you perform well you could achieve a place on the Interconnect graduate programme when you complete your studies.

Interconnect Graduate Programme

If you're a graduate and you're interested in helping create the future, we want to hear from you. We hire engineering graduates from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, offering an excellent platform from which to develop your career.

Our two-year rotational programme enables you to build a strong foundation in Research, Design and Technology, providing you with the network and skills needed for a successful career in our business. Your rotations will be in different product groups and if you are successful at creating an impact, one rotation could be abroad to help broaden your understanding of our business.

As part of the Smiths family, you will also get to know the graduates from the other Smiths divisions by working with them in development activities and business projects. This will help you build a global network across the organisation that should ultimately benefit your career.
