| Smiths is committed to achieving excellence in environment, health and safety management and performance, and providing effective leadership in the pursuit of injury-free and environmentally responsible workplaces. We strongly believe in continuous improvement and use management systems to realise its benefits, including OHSAS 18001 for H&S and ISO 14001 for environmental management. These systems help to improve our management of EHS issues by providing an externally verified framework for risk reduction, continual improvement, compliance assurance and management review. We require all manufacturing, warehouse and service sites with more than 20 employees to implement these systems, and sites with 50 more employees are required to complete external certification. All sites required to be certified have completed external certification. New acquisitions and sites that grow above these thresholds have two years to comply. |  |
